(Q). What are the essential qualifications to learn the Models in Bottles Art?

Ans.I think there is no special qualification required to learn the models in bottles Art.

But you should show more patience towards artwork. You should know how to curve the wood pieces for required model shaping and concentration makes you expert in this artwork .Go head get an initial start, all the best.

(Q). Where the tools available for Building Houses in Bottles?

Ans.There is no special place to get tools to build Houses in Bottles. I created my own tools depending on the requirements. The above picture shows some of the tools used by the expert Artists. Better to create them your own or from the workshop.

Q.What type of bottle should be selected?

Ans. bottle is one of the main attractions of the Model in Bottles Art. So select a plain glass bottles, with a small neck .Big bottle with small neck indicates the talent of your skill work. The glass of the bottle should be clear and visible to show the model inside clearly.

(Q). What type of wood can be used to build model?

Ans. better to select soft wood, which should be easy for cutting and curving for required shape. I frankly don’t know exactly the name of different woods. But I recommend a lightweight wood is much better.

(Q). Where we can get House plans?

Ans. I not yet found any place to get house plans, I will draw my own plans by viewing the front view of a House picture and imaginarily plan its top view, side view for my desired model. You to can try it, send me if any difficulties.

(Q). How much time does it take to build one masterpiece?

Ans. The time taken for each pieces depends entirely on your skill of work and of course the size of the bottle and model inside also matters.

(Q). What type of gum should use

Ans.I will prefer “Fevicol”(Indian branded company). Which is the most useful item in my technic.what ever the gum is, it should not stick not less then 3 minutes. Because a rough placing of the piece in construction may destroy the whole model. Better to take more time to stick.

(Q). What is the name of the art building models in bottles.

Ans. The name of the hobby of putting Houses and Ships in Bottles. I have heard of calling Model in Bottles  or Bottling Models .According to some Bottle Ship Society they is to name it as “AMPVLNAUTICA” from “Ampulla” a roman flask +Nautical(sea)+nautilus(sailor) all together “Sailing in a Bottle”.
